[...] A short sale is a sale of real estate in which the proceeds from the sale fall short of the balance owed on a loan secured by the property sold. In a short sale, the bank or mortgage lender agrees to discount a loan balance because of an economic or financial hardship on the part of the mortgagor. A short sale typically is executed to prevent a home foreclosure, but the decision to proceed with a short sale is predicated on the most economic way for the bank to recover the amount owed on the property. If you want more information about short sales in the Plainfield area, or are wondering about the costs involved in listing your house as a short sale, check out www.livinginplainfield.com and the article: How much does it cost to list my house if it’s a short sale? | Plainfield IL Homes [...]

I found your site while trying to find information on keeping bunnies out of my yard. My dogs also found a baby bunny nest tonight but I only found one bunny- I'm scared to think about what happened to the others. I had to move the nest more than 10 feet to get it away from my yard. I am just praying that the mother comes back around. Your story gives me hope for that little baby! This is the 3rd time we've had babies in our yard...

We are Gourmet Junction fans. Yes, the food is good, but the owners are really nice people. Before my mother-in-law moved to Lakewood Nursing Home, more than once, Jim and Mary Ann gave her a ride home when the weather turned.

They are the kind of people who make Plainfield such a nice place. If one of us has to be in town on any given morning, we order out and bring GJ sandwiches to the whole office up here in Oakbrook Terrace.

Julie, Your post did make me giggle. I can tell you I've crossed Newark, NJ off my list of places to visit. Ice cream is a round the clock requirement during my travels. I want to know if when I'm in Oklahoma and the dog makes an ugly face at me, does it get thrown in jail?

Julie,
Our community has restrictive covenants, but no Homeowners Association to enforce them. The community is about 8 years old , we have lived here for 2 1/2. In the last few months I have noticed that some newer folks are just ignoring some covenants that have been pretty well respected to date.

For eg. No fencing is allowed accept that which begins at the back corner of the house.
A new resident who bought a FSBO and has a corner property just built an 8’ fence from the front corner of their home. Boats are not allowed in driveways, must be out of site. I counted 10 in driveways today. Neighbors have cleared areas set aside as conservation areas….That’s being looked into right now by the zoning board after a complaint was files

Granted our neighborhood is one of the popular in our area, but how long before disrespectful residents bring it down a notch or two? I am thinking of starting an HOA myself…
