Jun 8th, 2007 by Julie
Schools out! That means our roles as parents now include the two new job descriptions… social advisor and activity director!
If you live in Plainfield IL though, you are in for a treat. All summer long the Village of Plainfield is offering Movies in the Park at Settler’s Park for free. The first movie will be played this Friday, June 8th. The movie this Friday will be “Curious George” and it starts at 8:00 pm.
Here is the schedule for the other movies throughout the summer:
“Scooby Doo”
June 22 at 8:00 pm
“Yours, Mine, & Ours”
July 13 at 8:00 pm
“Kicking and Screaming”
July 27 at 8:00 pm
“Raiders of the Lost Ark”
August 10 at 8:00 pm
“Little Giants”
August 24 at 8:00 pm
Some seating is available, but if you are plan on attending the event you should probably plan on packing a few lawn chairs and blankets just in case! In the event of bad weather the movie will be cancelled.
I remember the “days of old”, when my mom and dad would take my sisters and I, to the drive-in back in the 80’s… particularily the old Sky-Hi theatre on North Ave. in Lombard. Hopefully my kids will remember things like this when they have kids of their own. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow night!
If you have any questions about the events at Settler’s Park you can call the event hotline at 815-609-6124 or visit the village website at www.plainfield-il.org

Julie,
There is nothing better than sitting outside on a beautiful evening and enjoying a movie with family and friends. I especially like being able to bring my own snacks. Milk Duds anyone?
