I know that in this country you are presumed innocent until proven guilty, BUT… I sure am glad that Drew Peterson is finally behind bars.
It’s not that I thought that he was going to go on a random serial killing spree, it’s just that knowing that 2 of his 4 wives are either dead or missing, makes the whole innocent until proven guilty thing a little hard to swallow. In the court of public opinion, Drew certainly didn’t do much to win over the jury.
Drew’s bizarre behavior and television appearances haven’t done much to support his case either. I’ve had a hard time watching him in these interviews because nothing about him is believable. As the title of this post indicates, there is definitely a creep factor at play here. While I’d like to say “shame on you” to the media that gave him face time for his own self serving purposes, I think they are partly responsible for helping to get him behind bars. Every-time he did an interview, I personally grew more suspicious of his strange demeanor. How he managed to lure these young and beautiful women in with his “charms” is beyond me, because it certainly couldn’t have been based on his looks. He may have had them swooning, but he’d have had me grabbing my pepper spray.
I can only imagine the relief Kathleen Savio’s family is feeling knowing that someone finally listened to their suspicions. How frustrating it must have been for their family knowing that they were taking on a police sargent and his allies. How can you get a thorough investigation when the person investigating is the one who is trying to cover up the crime? I don’t know how anyone drowns in a dry bathtub with visible signs of trauma (according to the autopsy), but I guess when you’re a cop, and your ex-wife dies in your district… anything is possible.
Greta Van Sustren is on scene covering this story from On The Record, and will be reporting on this story later today.
Bolingbrook IL is the next town over from Plainfield IL where Lisa Stebic went missing 2 years ago this May. Lisa went “out for a run” and never returned home. She, like Stacy Peterson, also had 2 young children at home that she would never leave behind. Interestingly enough, she was in the middle of a divorce with her husband Craig Stebic, who was named a “person of interest” during the investigation.
Both Lisa Stebic and Stacy Peterson have never been found.

As many Plainfield IL residents are already painfully aware, 37 year old Lisa Stebic went missing around 6:00 pm on April 30th, 2007. She has been missing now for over 2 weeks.
Lisa is a vibrant, well liked mother of 2. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Lisa myself, but from every description I’ve read about her in the media and throughout town, I’m pretty sure there wouldn’t be much not to like.
I can only imagine how heart-breaking this past Mother’s Day must have been for Lisa’s 10 year old son Zach, and 12 year old daughter Lexi. My worst fear as a child was that one of my parents would be taken away from me. Although nothing can take away the pain they are experiencing, they are very fortunate to have such a great circle of family and friends to support them until their mom comes home safely.
Several searches have taken place over the last 2 weeks.
Plainfield is a big place, but only in the grand scheme of things. Every cozy little neighborhood is a social network of friends and neighbors. If you saw something, heard something… if something there in Walkers Grove just didn’t seem right that night, please call the Plainfield Police with that information. Nothing would be too inconsequential at this point.
Anyone who has information about Lisa’s disappearance is urged to contact the Plainfield Police Department. A special hotline has been set up to handle leads and information that pertains to Lisa and her disappearance and they can be reached at 815-267-7217. You can remain anonymous if you would like. Her family is desperate for information that will help bring her home.

37 year old Lisa Stebic, mother of 2, has been missing since Monday evening around 6:15 pm, when she left the house to go for a walk. She has not been seen or heard from since. Her credit cards, and cell phone have not been used since Monday afternoon, according to NBC 5 News.
Lisa is a lunch room worker at a school in Plainfield’s district 202. Her co-workers became concerened when she did not show up for work yesterday and contacted the police, which they say she has never done before.
According to NBC 5 News, Lisa and her husband, Craig, are going through a divorce. Craig said on camera that his wife is a very good mother. He just can’t understand where she is.
Her family and friends are more than concerned as to her why she has not yet returned home. She has two children ages 10 and 12. If you have any information on Lisa or where she might be you are urged to contact the Plainfield IL police on a special hot-line that they have set up at 815-267-7217 with any information.
It must be excruciating for her family and children as they wait to hear from her. Someone, somewhere, has to know something. I will keep this post active with updates, until we get word that Lisa has safely returned home.
